                        You said you hated the word empathy, that the term was "made up" and "doing a lot of damage". 

I disagree deeply with the ideas you were spreading, but thanks to empathy, I could see the traumas, fears and beliefs underneath your egoic discourse and that means I never saw you as an enemy, nor dehumanized you.

In reality, lack of empathy (in you and the fellow that shot you) is what ended up killing you.

That's how important empathy is: it saves lives - and it would have saved yours.

I wish I had a better opportunity to prove you wrong.
